Answers to the questions we get most often. If yours isn’t here, email support@tesify.app and we’ll reply within 2 business days.
How do I start my dissertation?
Create your account, tell us your topic and what you’re writing (honours research report, master’s dissertation, doctoral thesis) and Tesify proposes a starting chapter structure. From there you work one section at a time — you don’t need everything decided before you begin.
Do I need a card to start?
No. The free plan asks for no card and has no trial countdown. There is a paid plan; you’ll see it inside the app, never before you’ve written anything.
What happens to my work during load-shedding?
Your draft saves as you type, so an outage doesn’t cost you the section you were working on. Reopen it and you’re back where you stopped, with your chapter list intact.
How does Harvard referencing work?
Enter the source details (or paste a link or DOI) and Tesify builds the in-text citation and the reference list entry, alphabetised and consistently formatted. As you cite inside the editor, the list updates itself. Harvard varies slightly between departments — check your faculty guide for the final word.
What does the originality check actually do?
It compares your text against published sources and academic work and reports passages that resemble something already published. It’s there so you can spot a missing citation or a paraphrase that sits too close to the original and fix it yourself before submitting. It does not remove matches and does not promise any percentage.
Can I work in short sessions?
Yes, and it’s built for it. Work by chapter and section, and pick up exactly where you left off — twenty minutes between shifts adds up faster than waiting for a free weekend.
What formats can I export to?
Word (.docx), PDF and LaTeX, with margins, page numbering and title page ready to submit.
Is my dissertation private?
Yes. Your document is yours, we don’t share it with third parties and we don’t use it to train AI models. You can export or delete it whenever you like.
How do I close my account or delete my data?
Email privacy@tesify.app from your account address and we’ll process the deletion. Export anything you want to keep first — deletion can’t be undone.
Still stuck?
Email support@tesify.app with what you were doing, what you expected and what happened instead. Those three things get it solved much faster. See Contact for the full list.
